The classic marigold ointment

The classic marigold ointment

Ingredients:

Organic pork lard, butter or goat butter from organic farmers

Marigold flowers

Pot

Ointment jars or cream pots

Preparation:

Melt the organic pork fat, butter or goat's butter in a saucepan and mix with as much marigold flowers as the fat can absorb. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, but so that the flowers are not baked to a crisp. So don't let it get too hot.

If you want a particularly rich ointment, let it cool, remove the leached flowers from the fat and add new ones. Gently warm up again and repeat this procedure until there are no more flowers left.

When all the flowers have been used, remove the last flowers from the warmed fat and pour into ointment jars or cream pots and allow to cool. Don't forget to label it with the date and name and store it in a cool place so that the ointment doesn't go rancid.

Application:

The classic marigold ointment for rubbing on the skin.
