For the Egyptians and Israelites, the pomegranate tree was sacred.

Pomegranate is considered a love symbol and the juice belongs in love potions.

Pomegranate contains seeds under its leathery shell that are surrounded by a gel-like coating, which is the only one that is edible. To extract the juice, you either have to cut the fruit in half and scoop out the halves (swallowing the seeds as well, which is healthier) or roll it on a firm surface with strong pressure. If it cracks, the juice has come out. You poke a hole in the fruit, put a straw through it and drink the contents.

In the cosmetics industry, an oil is pressed from the kernels and is primarily used there. The core contains special fatty acids that ensure the formation of hormones (prostaglandins) in the body. The hormones guarantee the smooth functioning of the metabolism. The oil is used internally and externally because it reduces the depth of wrinkles.

Powder and tea are donors of phytohormones during menopause.

A syrup made from the juice of the fruit is grenadine, which plays a major role in Chinese and Asian cuisine. We know grenadine can be added to puddings, creams or cocktails.
