Make scented cream

This process is also called enfleurage. The point is that flowers are sprinkled on an odorless fat that gradually absorbs the smell of the flower. This works, for example, with the flowers of jasmine, rosemary, lavender, mint, roses and cloves.

What do you need:

  • Vaseline (semi-solid paraffin) or clarified butter

  • small glass or ceramic vessels with screw caps

  • Flowers

  • a table where you can leave everything for 14 days

How's it going:

First, hands are washed with a neutral soap and the table should be covered with clean paper.

Put some petroleum jelly into each container, about 1 heaped teaspoon, and then lubricate the containers with it. Now place the lid on the table, put a flower on the lid and put the container over it.

After every 24 hours, remove the flower on the lid and place a new one underneath. This is repeated for 14 days. Little by little the fat becomes saturated with the scent. This is how homemade scented creams are created that are hard to beat in terms of effectiveness.
