Hildegard von Bingen: Take the head of the lily root and crush everything in fat, then melt it in a bowl. And whoever has white leprosy, let him anoint often with it, and he will be healed. Those who have rashes should often drink goat's milk and crush the stems and leaves of the lily and squeeze out their juice. Knead the juice with fat and rub it onto the skin. The scent of the lily blossom is also healing because it delights the human heart and gives him the right thoughts.
