Ingredients:
2 handfuls of fresh, crushed hyssop sprigs with flowers and leaves
2 cups of water
real bee honey
Pot
fine sieve, linen cloth or filter
Measuring cup or kitchen scale
screw-top jar
Preparation:
Put the chopped hyssop branches in a pot with the water and bring to the boil. Let it simmer on a low heat until some of the water has evaporated. (You can inhale the vapors if you suffer from a cough or asthma.) Then strain the tea through a fine sieve, linen cloth or filter.
Measure out the reserved brew and use the same amount of honey. Put both in a screw-top jar and mix well. Don't forget to label it with your name and date. Store in the refrigerator.
You can also mix with other cough herbs. For dried plants, only half the amount is used.
Application:
Take 1 spoonful of hyssop honey 3 times a day or sweeten your tea with it.
