1 handful of bark powder or shredded bark
150 g lard
Water

Preparation:
In a smaller pot, add the bark powder or the chopped bark with the lard. Then add water to a slightly larger pot so that the smaller pot fits there (water bath). Now heat the water bath until the lard has melted and always stir well. Let the whole thing simmer at around 70 degrees Celsius for 1 hour.
After 60 minutes, the liquid fat is poured through a fine sieve where the powder or bark is collected (strained). Then pour into ointment pots, let cool and label with name and date.

Elm ointment for external use on the skin.
