Common sowthistle was cultivated as a vegetable in the Middle Ages.


In the kitchen, the plant is used as a delicious wild vegetable, whose leaves and roots make excellent dishes. It goes well with boiled beef soup, in all vegetable soups and as a salad, but not as a seasoning, but as the main ingredient.
