Turmeric is worn as an amulet in Asia because it is said to be an effective protection against evil spirits and the witchcraft of diseases. The powdered root plays a major role in every love spell.

The spice plant is contained in Indian curry powder.

To prepare it, boil the root and let it dry in the sun. Then the outer skin is rubbed off and the rhizome is ground into powder.

If you want to include turmeric in your diet, you should make sure that the daily dose is around 3 g. Correspondingly less for children.

Since turmeric quickly turns everything yellow, you should be careful when using it and wear gloves. Simply rub yellow skin areas with oil and store the tuber in a cool place, protected from light.

In tropical countries, turmeric is used as an antibiotic against bacteria.

Hildegard von Bingen: The Zitwer is moderately warm and has great power. A person whose limbs are trembling and cannot stop, let him cut it into wine and add some galangal to it and boil it with honey and drink it warm and the trembling will disappear from him.
