Toadflax ointment

Ingredients:

1/4 kg lard

1 good handful of toadflax


Pot

Strainer

Cream pots


Preparation:

Put the lard in a pot and heat slowly over a low temperature so that it does not smoke. Then add as much of the good handful of toadflax to the pot as the lard can absorb. Then cook for about 30 minutes and then let cool. Remove the used toadflax.


Now heat again at a low temperature and add a new amount of toadflax. Let it cook for another 30 minutes and then cool again.


If you have taken fresh plants, you should start a third run. When it has cooled slightly after the second or third so that the lard is still liquid, it can be poured through a sieve and poured into cream pots.


Store in the refrigerator and use soon.

The toadflax ointment for external use on the skin, for creaming.
