Fiery eyes
“Anyone who has fiery eyes that resemble a black cloud next to the sun has naturally received them from the warm south wind. They are healthy because they come from the warmth of the fire. Dust and every foul stench harms them, because brightness pays no attention to the dust, and purity pays no attention to an unknown stench.”
Fiery eyes have nothing to do with a fiery gaze. They are those eyes that have a pupillary ring. These so-called “southern wind eyes” are extremely sensitive to dust, but are otherwise very healthy.
Brown (black) eyes
“Whoever has black or cloudy eyes, as a cloud sometimes has, got them mainly from the earth. They are stronger and sharper than other eyes and retain their visual acuity for a long time... but are easily damaged by the moisture of the earth and the moisture of water bodies and swamps..."
Brown-eyed people have better visual acuity than all other eye types. However, complaints can occur in areas around lakes, coasts and swamps.
