There are around 200 species of spurge, some of which look like cacti, and castor plants and poinsettias are also spurge plants. All of them together secrete milky juice, which immediately comes out if the outer skin is injured and closes the wound. Everything about the plants is poisonous, especially the milk and the fruits. Even consuming a single seed fruit is questionable. It should be assumed that all species of milkweed are toxic and some are even fatally poisonous. Children should be informed early on.
