Ingredients:
approx. 50 g sage (fresh or dried)
250 g sugar
½ liter of water

Put the sage in a pot with cold water, bring to the boil briefly and let it steep over a low heat for 1 hour. Then remove the pot from the heat and let it steep for another 3 hours. Strain the broth through a sieve or ideally a linen cloth. Squeeze the herbs again and then thicken the broth with sugar to create a syrupy mass. Bring to the boil again briefly, then pour into a glass or bottle with a cork or swing top.
