For the peppermint liqueur:
1 handful of fresh peppermint leaves
1/2 liter alcohol
3/4 liter of water
1/4 kg sugar
Glass
Pot
fine sieve or filter
Bottle
For the long drink:
Peppermint liqueur
Mineral water
Ice cubes
1 lemon slice
1 leaf of fresh mint
Long drink glass
Preparation:
Place a handful of fresh mint leaves in a wide-mouthed glass and pour alcohol over it. Then let it steep at room temperature for 10 days.
Mix 3/4 liter of water with 1/4 kg of sugar in a saucepan, heat and simmer a little. Now mix the cooled sugar syrup with the alcohol and stir well. Then strain the whole thing through a fine sieve or filter and squeeze out the crumbly leaves well. Now the peppermint liqueur can be poured into bottles. Don't forget to label with the date and name.
On hot days, pour the peppermint liqueur with mineral water into a long drink glass and add ice cubes. Cut a lemon slice from the middle and place it on the long drink glass. Add a leaf of fresh mint to the top of the glass for decoration and then enjoy the peppermint long drink.
