Ingredients:
1/4 kg fresh lemon balm leaves
1/4 liter jojoba oil
Another 4 to 5 tablespoons of dried or fresh lemon balm leaves
120ml water
45g lanolin
15g beeswax
1 teaspoon honey
Melissa essential oil

Preparation:
Place the fresh lemon balm leaves* in a glass jar and pour the jojoba oil over them. Now close or cover the glass jar and leave it in a warm place for 3 weeks. *The leaves should be well coated with the oil so that young leaves are not added until the old ones have sunk to the ground.
After the 3 weeks of steeping, the oil can be strained through a fine sieve, linen cloth or filter; the leaves should be squeezed out well. 120 ml of the collected oil is measured out and the rest is set aside for later use or as a personal care product.
Now put 4 to 5 tablespoons of lemon balm in a pot and pour 120 ml of water over it. Make a strong tea from it and, after steeping for 30 minutes, strain it through a coffee filter.
Now we need a larger pot with water and a smaller pot that can be placed in there for a water bath. Add the beeswax and lanolin to the smaller pot and heat in a water bath until everything is melted. Slowly add the honey and the lemon balm oil, stirring constantly. The temperature should be around 65 to 70 degrees. Heat the strong tea again and bring it to the same temperature of 65 to 70 degrees. Then stir this drop by drop into the melted fat. In order for the fat and water mass to mix harmoniously, an approximately equal temperature is required. Once everything has been mixed well, it can be poured into ointment jars.
As it cools down, make sure to stir frequently until it becomes a mass. When the ointment is cool, add 10 drops of lemon balm essential oil. Don’t forget to label it with your name and date.
