Meadowsweet beer

Meadowsweet beer

Ingredients:

1/2 kg meadowsweet

100 g raspberry leaves

100 g Odermenning

100 g mallow flowers

2 lemons

4 1/2 liters of water

4 1/2 kg sugar

30 g cream of tartar

Brewer's yeast

1/2 teaspoon each brown sugar/bottle

large pot

large vessel

fine sieve or linen cloth

Bottles

Preparation:

Put the meadowsweet, the raspberry leaves, the Odermenning, the mallow flowers and the peel of the 2 untreated lemons in a large pot and pour the water over them. Then let it cook for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, mix the sugar, the juice of the 2 lemons and the cream of tartar in a large container. After half an hour, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly. Then place a fine sieve or linen cloth over the large vessel and pour the slightly cooled pot with the herbal broth into the vessel and strain. Squeeze out the herbs well.

Now stir until the sugar dissolves. When the liquid is lukewarm, the brewer's yeast can be added (follow the instructions on the package!). Let stand in a warm place for 3 days.

After the 3 days of fermentation, it can be poured into bottles, adding 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar to each bottle and sealing.

Let it rest for about 1 week, then the meadowsweet beer should be clear and ready to drink.

Attention: Alcohol is not for children, young people, pregnant women and drivers!!!
