The linden tree is a sacred tree to the goddess Freya, the patroness of female justice. It is also the center of the dwarves' magical rose gardens and in the Nibelungen saga, Siegfried's happiness and end begins here. A linden tree near the house protects against witches and witchcraft.

Linde blossoms can be combined well with other plants. A winter tea mixture during the infection season can consist of linden flowers, chamomile flowers, mallow flowers, rose hips, peppermint, dried currants, marshmallow flowers and raspberry, blackberry and strawberry leaves. Depending on how you like it, you can make the tea from a maximum of 4 of these plants. Half of the tea mixture should always consist of lime blossoms. Linden blossom tea cannot be used as a long-term drink; after 2 weeks, other medicinal herbs should be used.

You can use lime charcoal externally and internally. The powdered lime charcoal is available in the pharmacy and helps with flatulence, constipation, diarrhea, loss of appetite, bloated stomach and frequent belching. You take 1 tip of a knife in the morning and evening.

Linde leaves dye wool and fabrics in shades of yellow to brown.

The lime wood, which is soft and elastic, is used to make beautiful carvings. Which are also used as magnificent altars in old churches from the "holy" Wood was carved.

The fragrance farnesol is responsible for the fragrance under flowering linden trees, which is why depressed people and those with nervous weakness should stay under the trees for a long time.

You can make strong and durable ropes and brushes or weave mats from linden bast.

Hildegard von Bingen: The linden tree has a warmth that rises into the branches and leaves. The person who has heart pain take the inner root, powder it and eat the powder often on bread. When you go to sleep, place fresh lime leaves on your eyes and all over your face, this will make your eyes clear and clean. But whoever has gout, let him take some of the earth that is around the root of the linden tree and put the earth into the fire so that it becomes glowing. And in a steam bath, pour water over it and bathe in it. Do this for nine days and the gout will be cured.

Take a piece of bark from the trunk of the linden tree (not from a branch) when it greens up in summer. Cut shavings away from the white wood and pass the shavings through a gold ring. Cover this ring with a cotton cloth and place a green glass over it so that the power of the chip does not escape. Do this for 14 days with the waxing moon. Then put the ring on your finger. This is a powerful force against the most dangerous human diseases.
