Lemon thyme is an evergreen subshrub. It grows up to 10 cm high and spreads up to 30 cm like a carpet on the ground. The leaves are shiny green with a pale yellow edge. Some plants have more lemon-yellow or green leaves with pale yellow spots because the plant is a hybrid of the Thyme genus. Lemon thyme blooms in mid to late summer. The flowers can vary from pink to purple and attract butterflies and bees.

🛑 People with allergies may experience severe allergic reactions. Should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

In the kitchen, the leaves are often used to flavor chicken, fish and vegetable dishes and to make a relaxing tea.
