Ingredients:
1 part:
1/4 kg heather flowers
1 liter boiling water
Ceramic or porcelain bowl
Cloth for covering
fine sieve
Part 2:
2 handfuls of heather flowers
1/2 kg sugar
2 lemon slices
Pot
Bottles
Preparation:
1 part of the tea: Place the flowers in a ceramic or porcelain bowl and pour 1 liter of boiling water over them. Cover the bowl with a cloth and only after half a day pour the flowers through a fine sieve, squeezing them well. Don't throw away flowers, they will still be needed.
2 parts of the syrup: Put the squeezed flowers back into the bowl and add 2 more handfuls of fresh flowers.
In a pot, put the tea you made from part 1 and add the sugar and bring to the boil until the sugar has dissolved. Then pour the sugar mixture over the flowers and add the lemon slices. Stir well and cover again with a cloth. This time let it stand for 24 hours.
After a day, the whole thing can be strained through a fine sieve and poured into bottles. If you work properly, the heather syrup will last between 3 and 6 months.
