Traditions report the magical power of purifying healing rituals and spells that are held in closed rooms. The plant drives away negative energies.

In the kitchen, fresh leaves, finely chopped and in small quantities, are added to leaf salads, vegetable dishes, fruit salads and desserts. Larger quantities go well with mint sauces and as an addition to lamb and chicken.

Large bushes of field mint in front of the kitchen window repel flies.

A dash of fresh plant juice or essential oil in the wiping water reliably disinfects and eliminates annoying, odor-causing bacteria.

The essential oil has a stimulating effect on nerves and olfactory buds. Field mint can be smoked on its own, but is also suitable for mixtures with benzoin, rosemary, lavender, marjoram, lemon balm, among others, to drive away flies and annoying bacteria and to cleanse the entire atmosphere of energetic dirt.
