Pour the water into the pot and stir in the sugar well. Add the elderflowers and the half-sliced lemons and then bring to the boil. Let it boil for at least 15 minutes and then remove the pot from the heat and strain through a fine sieve or linen towel. When it is still hot, pour it into bottles and close the snap cap. Allow to cool and then store in a cool, dark place, preferably in the refrigerator.
The elderflower syrup tastes best diluted with cold water and ice cubes. Mmmmhhhh delicious 😋😍
Ingredients:
900 g ripe elderberries, stems removed
200 ml water
5 cloves
1 piece of ginger
225g sugar
Pot
fine sieve
Bottles with snap caps
Preparation:
The elderberries are placed in a pot with the water and cooked until the juice has fully developed. You can also press them down with a fork beforehand. Remove the pot from the heat and strain through a fine sieve. Then let the juice boil with the cloves, ginger and sugar for an hour. The syrup can then be bottled. Allow to cool and store in a cool place. The syrup can be drunk with water or mineral water during the winter as a vitamin booster. It also tastes very good with sparkling wine.
Enjoy the elderflower- and elderberry syrup. :)
