Common polypody is rarely found anymore and can sometimes still be found on mossy trees and rocks.

Bitter substances, essential and fatty oil, mucilage, tannins, saponins, sugar, resins, osladin, phloroglucins
Other:
☕ Tea: 2 teaspoons of dried root are steeped in 1/4 liter of cold water overnight. Strain and reserve. The softened roots are scalded again with boiling water and allowed to steep. The mixture of both teas is drunk in sips during the day.

The dried root can be pulverized and then added to jam or honey, or drunk as a tea. Application see above
Hildegard von Bingen: If a person is very sick and has pain in the intestines, boil wine with the addition of honey and pour the powder into the cooled wine and drink it.
