Classic millet porridge

Classic millet porridge

250 g millet

500 ml water

1 vanilla stick

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 splash of lemon juice

3 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons butter

various berries for garnish

Rinse the millet thoroughly under hot running water to remove the bitter taste. Then add 500 milliliters of cold water, bring to the boil and cover for about 15 minutes. The millet should completely absorb the water.

Scrape out the pulp of the vanilla pod and mix it into the millet porridge along with a pinch of cinnamon, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Spread the porridge on plates and form a kind of crater in the middle of each.

Heat the butter, add the remaining cinnamon and sugar. Spread the seasoned melted butter into the crater. Serve garnished with berries if desired.

The classic millet porridge is ready.

Bon appetit!
