Ingredients:
dried bertram root
high percentage of alcohol
Cognac or vodka
Jar with lid
Sieve, linen cloth or filter
Brown glass bottles
Preparation:
Put the root in the glass and moisten it with the high-proof alcohol. Then let it stand for 1 day and then pour in enough cognac or vodka so that the roots are covered and the alcohol is a hand's breadth above the plant material. Close the jar and leave it warm for about 3 to 4 weeks.
After this time, strain through a sieve, linen cloth or filter and pour into the brown glass bottles. Don't forget the label (name and month/year).
Application:
The tincture can be used as a spice, in soups and sauces, in casseroles and vegetable dishes. The alcohol evaporates during cooking. Otherwise, take the tincture drop by drop; around 20 drops per day are sufficient.
