Benedictine - Herbal Liqueur


Benedictine - herbal liqueur

Ingredients:

1/2 l alcohol 40%

1/4 l and another 1/4 l of water

1 small piece of chopped rhubarb root

1 fresh, crushed Benedict thistle root

some gentian root

1 handful of peppermint leaves

2 pinches ground cinnamon

some fresh, chopped marjoram

2 crushed wormwood leaves

some lavender flowers

some saffron

1/4 kg sugar


Preparation:

Mix the pure alcohol with water and add the rhubarb root, Benedict thistle root, gentian root, peppermint leaves, cinnamon, marjoram and wormwood leaves (as described above) to the mixture.

After about 1 hour, add the lavender flowers and a little saffron (2 knife tips) and let the mixture stand for another 1/2 hour.

It is then filtered through a sieve, linen cloth or filter.

Boil the sugar in water and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Now both liquids are poured together, stir well again and then pour into well-sealable bottles.

Can be stored for 3 to 4 months.


Attention: Alcohol is not for children, young people, pregnant women and drivers!!!
