Aniseed apple compote with lemon balm


3 kg apples

50 ml lemon juice

220 g sugar

1 1/2 tbsp anise seeds

8 sprigs of lemon balm

800 ml water


Peel, core and dice apples. Bring water, lemon juice and sugar to the boil in a pot. Add anise seeds and bring to the boil again. Remove pot from heat.

Place the apple pieces with lemon balm in prepared preserving jars and pour the sugar water over them. Close the jars well.
