Because of its aromatic smell, anise is used as an anti-demonic agent. The fruits carried in the pocket make it difficult for evil spirits to approach the person in question. To do this, there must be new seeds every day.

Pastries with aniseed are considered a sacrificial dish that is still brought to the table in traditional families at Thanksgiving celebrations or weddings, especially in northern Germany.

If you chew a few lightly roasted anise seeds after eating, you will improve your breathing and digestion and kill the bacteria straight away.

Anise should be used abundantly in bread and cakes as a spice. There aren't enough anise cookies for Christmas.

As an aphrodisiac, anise is widespread throughout Europe, just think of Greece and its "ouzo".

Washing your head with anise tea gets rid of lice.

The pure essential oil Anisi aetheroleum is used for liniments and in ointments against vermin.

Hildegard von Bingen: Anise opens, warms and strengthens all intestines. Boiled in water or wine or applied externally, warm in small sachets, it reduces the bloating of the stomach.

1 tbsp ground seeds mixed with 1 tbsp honey and 3 tbsp yogurt makes a nourishing face pack. Of course, you can also use a few drops of pure essential oil instead of the seeds. The essential oil should never be taken undiluted or used on the skin.
