Anise hyssop syrup

Anise hyssop syrup

Ingredients:

approx. 500 g fresh anise hyssop leaves

1/2 liter of water

300 to 350 g sugar

Pot

fine sieve

Bottles

Preparation:

Put the fresh anise hyssop leaves in a pot and pour the water over them. Then slowly heat until boiling, stirring occasionally. Before it boils, remove the pot from the heat and leave it covered overnight, or for at least 1 hour.

After the specified time, the sugar is added to the strong tea in the pot and allowed to simmer again for 10 minutes. Then remove the pot from the heat and strain the liquid through a fine sieve. Now fill the still warm syrup into bottles and close tightly. Label with name and date.

The anise hyssop syrup lasts for around 1/2 year.
