Strawberry jam with basil

Ingredients:

1kg strawberries

1/2 bunch of basil

2 tbsp sugar

250 ml dry red wine

500 g preserving sugar 2:1

Water

Preparation:

🍓Wash, clean and dice the strawberries. Wash the basil, shake it dry and roughly chop the leaves. Then put the basil leaves in a bowl.

🍓Dissolve sugar in 50 milliliters of boiling water. Pour the syrup over the basil leaves and let it steep.

🍓Put the strawberries in a large pot together with the red wine. Bring to the boil with the preserving sugar according to the instructions on the package, mashing the strawberries into puree or chopping them with a hand blender.

🍓As soon as the strawberry jam begins to gel (gelling test), stir in the basil and fill everything into sterilized jars and close immediately.
