Aloe Tincture

Aloe Vera

Ingredients:

20 g aloe gel

100 ml high-proof fruit brandy

1 screw glass

separate glass

Preparation:

First, a leaf of the aloe vera is cut off at the very bottom, at the base. Then place the leaf, cut side down, in a separate glass for at least 1 hour. This causes the yellow juice, the aloin, which has a very strong laxative effect, to run out of the leaf. We won't need this for the tincture.

The next step is to carefully cut the leaf lengthwise with a knife and pour the gel inside into the screw-top jar with a spoon. It would be ideal to weigh the screw-top jar beforehand and then bring it to tare "0". This means you can then weigh the gel and bring it to 20 grams. To get a fine mass, you can mix or puree the gel with a blender.

The high-percentage alcohol (at least 37%) is now added to the gel in the screw-top jar. Stir and close the jar tightly and leave it in a dark, cool place for about 2 weeks. Shake every now and then.

Use:

The tincture can be made into ointments or taken drop by drop.
